It takes a bit of determination to reach this reserve. Located away from the main forest roads, it spreads over a difficult, quite wet terrain.
But it is thanks to the shady and humid environment that you can see wild yews in the reserve. Once this species was a permanent component of Polish forests, today it is less and less common in the natural environment.
Although the main purpose of creating the reserve (protection of the yew) coincides with the nearby Skarżysko reserve, these places are different from each other.
In the Majdów reserve, you will encounter fir much more often, and the alder stand, characteristic of wetlands, is younger than in the nearby reserve.
