The history of the church and parish is inextricably linked with Denkowo - formerly an independent town, and since 1954 - a district of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski.

In 1564, King Zygmunt August agreed to the location of the town of Mnichów Wielki. The name was not accidental - it was derived from the name of the heir, Stanisław Mnichowski. The town was founded in 1578, soon taking over the name of Denków.

The temple itself was founded in 1581. At first, it was a modest, larch church, which was replaced with a brick building in the 18th century.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the church was extended to the west and two chapels were added on the sides, giving it the shape of a Latin cross. Today, after many reconstructions, the church does not have a single, leading architectural style.

At the church there is a belfry - in the lower part made of brick, in the upper part - wooden, covered with a tent roof.
