The church you can see today in Wierzbica dates from the early 18th century. However, the history of the local parish goes back many centuries.
We know from the preserved documents that in 1198 Wierzbica was donated to the thriving Cistercian abbey in nearby Wąchock. It was probably the Cistercians who built the wooden church of St. st. Go.
The present temple, also built thanks to the efforts of the Cistercians, dates back to 1709. It is a brick church whose façade, after reconstruction, has acquired a harmonious, neoclassical character.
Next to it you will find a presbytery and a belfry from the 19th century.
