The forests near Starachowice hide many secrets and tragic stories from years ago. One of them is commemorated by a modest grave in which children murdered during World War II are buried.
The tragedy took place in the winter of 1943, when the Gestapo killed children of Polish and Jewish descent aged 10 to 16. They were all inhabitants of the Kielce region.
The grave is surrounded by the memory and care of the inhabitants of Starachowice, including the scouts who take care of the grave and the area around it.
