Although the temple in Strawczyn is almost 400 years old, most visitors associate it with one event from the 19th century - the baptism of one of the greatest Polish writers.
It's about Stefan Żeromski. In his "Dzienniki" the author writes: "I was born on October 14, 1864 in the village of Strawczyn to my parents Wincenty and Józefa née Katerl".
In the church, in the chapel of Our Lady of the Scapular, there is still a baptismal font in which the writer received his first sacrament, and the baptism itself is confirmed by the "Baptismal Book" from the 19th century kept in the parish.
The temple, despite the fact that it was rebuilt, retained its original baroque elements. Inside, it is worth paying attention to the painting of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the main altar.
