Although Bałtów is famous primarily for its perfectly preserved tracks of Jurassic creatures, you will easily find other interesting facts from the world of nature here.
What is protected in the reserve? First of all - the forest. Extremely rich and diverse, mainly due to the fertile ground and very diverse habitats.
The reserve itself consists of 2 parts. The first one borders the valley of the Kamienna River and has a very undulating topography, gradually descending towards the river. The second part covers the steep limestone edge of the Kamienna valley. Each of these parts creates completely different conditions for the life and development of plants.
Therefore, in the reserve you will find both typical forest species (characteristic of both wetland and warmer forests) and thermophilic xerothermic plants. There are also plants typical of meadows and even ... mountains.
