Located in the valley of the Kamienna River, Bałtów is full of places where you will feel more deeply in contact with the surrounding nature.
The reserve is located in an extremely picturesque, hilly area cut by numerous gorges and ravines with steep slopes.
The reserve itself includes one gorge, the depth of which varies from one to as much as 20 meters. A fragment of a multi-species deciduous forest of a primeval character with the participation of valuable Polish larch is under protection here. Some of the larches found here have achieved the status of a natural monument - the circumference of their trunk at a height of 1.3 meters (this height is called "dbh") exceeds 100 centimeters.
In addition to larch, the keen eye of a nature lover has a chance to recognize oaks, hornbeams, limes and pines here.
