Wealthy landowners and ordinary inhabitants: men and women, clergy and lay people - many inhabitants of the Świętokrzyskie region fought or actively supported the January insurgents.

The graves of heroes from the 19th century can be found, among others, in the Czyżów cemetery.

Next to the majestic chapel of the Prendowski family rests Jadwiga Prendowska, called Langiewicz's liaison. The wife of the property manager in Mirc actively participated in the pre-uprising manifestations. During the uprising itself, she served as a courier of the National Government, carrying out missions commissioned by Marian Langiewicz. She also organized help for the victims in the stand. For her actions, she was arrested and exiled to the foothills of the Urals.

Antoni Szelągiewicz is also buried here. A blacksmith from Stara Słupia, upon hearing about the outbreak of the uprising, reported to the Langiewicz camp in Wąchock, where he was directed to produce weapons. He fought at Wąchock and Święty Krzyż.
