Although the main attraction of Ćmielów is the porcelain factory, the more inquisitive tourists also visit the cemetery in Ćmielów. Why?
The answer to this question is visible from a distance - the characteristic dome of one of the most interesting tomb chapels in the Świętokrzyskie region clearly dominates the other monuments of the cemetery.
The chapel was founded in the 19th century by Magdalena and Józef Długoszewski. The squat octagon is surrounded by ogival arcades supported by massive columns. The sources also say that in the 1840s a "porch" was added to the chapel.
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the building was seriously damaged by fire. Inside the chapel, however, paintings depicting saints, purgatory, the scene of the resurrection and the last judgment have been preserved.
