The small brick church is one of the 2 temples in the city. Historians know a lot about the former functions of this object by its call itself.
Churches dedicated to the Holy Spirit were founded centuries ago primarily as hospital churches. A "hospital" was then called a kind of shelter for elderly, dependent people and poor people. It was the role of the church at the poorhouse that was played by the wooden temple that stood here as early as the 15th century.
A brick church was built in its place in the 18th century. Unfortunately, this one did not survive to our times - it burned down in a fire during World War I in 1917. For many years the temple remained in ruins - tourists could only see the remains of walls without a roof.
The effort of reconstruction was undertaken after almost 100 years. The reconstruction was carried out under the watchful eye of the monument conservator. Today, the plastered and supplemented walls are covered with a roof and a wooden vault, creating an intimate space for the faithful to concentrate and pray.
